He said what?!

Ok. It is moment like this I am really ashamed of telling others I am a Singaporean.

Lim Swee Say criticised for remarks on M’sia and China

I have no idea how the hell he could leech on the taxpayers for so long? It just take one idiot to destroy goodwill between nation and we have found our idiot.

I am actually very embarassed that he is in the cabinet. I mean which cabinet member would boast about pinching toothpicks from restaurant?

I was clearing my web browser when I saw this article from last week:

Check and balance a seductive lie: ESM Goh
I think we should listen to our former prime minister. I suggest we abolish the police force.

I suggest the state release my CPF. I can check myself.

I think PAP have done a wonderful job checking itself. So good in checking themselves that a certain RC chairman can approve his own claim.

I hope our former prime minister would also take to task all political nomads regardless of party affiliation. I hope he talk to Desmond Choo who is contesting in Tampines. Not that I don’t want him. But I think I shouldn’t encourage him to break his promise to Hougang residents.

It’s not fair when my friends from Hougang accuses me of enticing Desmond Choo to come Tampines to plunder. We have nothing in Tampines for him to plunder. We don’t even have a stadium!

First news to share:

Politicians can work without incentives? Don’t be “seduced”, says Vivian Balakrishnan

Typical strawman logical fallacy. No one is asking those who seek office to be working for free. But when you come demanding high pay, we as your paymaster demand a performance that is equal the amount we pay you.

And mind you, Singaporeans are not paying the market rate, we are paying way way above the market rate.

And lastly, I wonder what does he think of politicians who don’t work with incentive. He could try asking his colleague. Like the former transport minister who didn’t open his mouth at all throughout the last parliament.

Next up, prata flipper at its best.

Gov’t says will maintain 2/3 “S’porean core” in economy – but numbers raise questions

But after a mere 6 days later, someone flipped his prata so well, the guys at Jalan Kayu will hire him at the drop of a hat.

Minister Lim Swee Say: To protect Singaporeans, we need to take in more foreigners

Then one guy where we hope he fulfilled his Swiss standard of living promise started opening his mouth. He should remember that we are still waiting for his Swiss standard of living.

Goh’s “chase after meat” remark offensive, extremely disrespectful, say S’poreans

Lastly, did anyone count how many time our PM have to invoke the name of his deceased father during the recent national day rally? I think it a north of 150 times…

Even George W. Bush despite all his shortcoming and failing, did not invoke the name of his father (who was a former president) that often during his 2 terms as President like our dragon prince here.

When you need to drag a dead man out from his grave, you know shit have truly hit the fan…

Where are thy balls?

When I see hear this news:

Ng Chee Meng, Sun Xueling join PAP’s Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC team

I instantly linked it to:

Tin Pei Ling will be PAP’s candidate for MacPherson SMC

You know I really respect Tin Pei Ling despite initial misgivings. Despite the jokes pulled on her about her choice of handbag, what she is going to say and stuff, she did her duties as a MP.

For starter, she quit her job to go full time.

Then despite all the brickbats thrown at her, she is still going to stand for re-election at her ward which became a SMC.

Unlike another career officer who threw in the towel after one term at the transport ministry.

At least she have the balls. Can’t say much for the newly parachuted candidate.

The really funny thing is how all these career officers are parachuted into GRCs. The senior officers of the armed forces, the so called top scholars of Singapore dared not/could not hold their ground in a SMC while a new mother probably 3/4 their age, possess nowhere their “experience” of running an army could stand her ground in a SMC?

Sadly, I wondered, is Singaporean male missing their balls because as I was typing this, I remembered a few more guys who are in the spotlight recently and they can’t even compare to TPL.

Desmond Choo, the losing Hougang candidate once said:

We can build a future for Hougang together

Hougang By-Election 2012

And yet, somehow, building a future with Hougang means going to Tampines.

After 2 defeats in Hougang, Desmond Choo moves to Tampines

There are more candidates:

Remember the self styled “Son of Punggol”?

Jan 2013: Meet the son of punggol

Aug 2015: AMK, meet your new son

Not forgetting Ong Ye Kung, running from Aljunied to Sembawang. Not sure how Aljunied resident feels about his promises made during the 2011 election..

But what Aljunied resident feel is not important. Because according to the old man, they must repent! Hahaha.

Ok. Never a day goes without some wacky idea being thrown around like it’s some million dollar proposal.

LTA says it has approached SAF to explore deploying troops in large-scale breakdowns

It is proposal like this that destroy the institution of National Service and it’s original purpose behind it.

Isn’t NS original purpose to rapidly build up and maintain a credible defence force?

Since when is it used for such frivolous stuff like clearing SMRT shit?

I am always opposed to the idea of getting NSFs to be the warm bodies for mass event like YOG, SEA games, NDP and now being marshalers when the MRT break down again.

You could argue that mass event impact the nation and so the army is needed to help out. But isn’t PA formed to handle such big scale community stuff? Anyway, this is another topic for another day.

But MRT breakdown on the other hand is totally unacceptable. Why should state resources be used to help a private company? What makes this private company so special that state resources could be used to clear up their mess?

If such a thing is ok, what is stopping other private company from requesting to do the same thing? Do we get the army to pitch in should our refuse company one fine day decided to do the same trick as what SMRT did?

If we don’t allow other private company to do it, what makes SMRT so special that it had such privilege? The fact that it’s CEO was the former CDF?

This is sad because we are belittling the time and effort put in by our youths when they have to serve their NS liability. You ask them to sacrifice the 2 best year of their life and then you exploit them like slaves. So, paraphrase the songs we sing in army:

Have you ever wondered, why must we serve?

Haha. This announcement will tell you why.

What did I just read?!

Ok, this really have to take the cake. I can’t believe I just read this. I think I am more amazed by the reasoning for the lapse.

Grassroots leaders’ good intentions the root cause of financial lapses: Lim Swee Say

I didn’t know you could use the excuse of good intentions to break rules, much less financial rules. The logic is so flawed deep, I have difficulty understanding. Coming from the same guy who coined cheaper, better, faster and upturn the downturn.

As for the chairman of the Admiralty Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC) who was found to have been involved in the award of a contract worth $32,000 to a company in which he was also a senior management executive, and also for writing and approving reimbursements cheques to himself worth $114,000, Mr Lim said, without identifying the chairman, Mr Tonic Oh:

“Although there was no evidence of dishonesty, the CCC chairman has taken personal responsibility for these lapses and resigned from his position.”

That guy got it easy. In any sound private company run by people with sound mind, the company would not wait for the guy to resign. The company would recover all the amount claimed and then proceed to fire his ass so many time over that Donald Trump would blush.

This signal deep rot within PA. There is something really really wrong in PA when you can allow someone to submit and approve his/her own claims, not to mention the amount claimed.

I’ll tell you why there is something really wrong yet no one is bothering.

Out of the 1,800 GROs, only 115 GROs have been audited and out of those audited, 30% was found to have irregularities. Ask any reliability engineer and they will laugh at this kind of result.

Wait, we don’t need to ask any engineer. Just ask yourself, if I were to sell you this car which I told you was tested 1,800 times and out of which I randomly selected 115 times for data logging. The result was that 30% of the 115 times was unsatisfactory. Would you still buy the car from me?

If you wouldn’t buy my car analogy, why on earth would you guys accept such standards from a public institution?

Still not convinced? You know flag day is a donation right? Why don’t you add that amount you donated to those poor students who have to work hard on a weekend when you’re filing your taxes with IRAS? When IRAS were to ask you for documentary proof, tell them you have no receipt, but you have people witnessing your act of kindness? You see if IRAS is convinced.

If you know IRAS would not buy this kind of rubbish, then why would you guys condone this kind of shenanigans happening?

Singaporeans, you guys are really hopeless and your ministers know it. That is why they give you this kind of answer. Because they see you as nothing more than trash and the best part is, you guys just take it all in. Hook, line and sinker.

Wait, the best part is I heard acquaintances saying how WP is doing a trash job in AHPETC while reading Today Newspaper about the AGO report on PA. #hopeless #assforbrain #wasteofoxygen #didntsayyou #readtherightthing #votetherightparty #onlinebadMSMgood

This has to be a joke.

What used to be coffee shop rumors turns out to be true when this was announced:

With immediate effect, the authorities will reject work pass applications that contain “doubtful” qualifications such as those from degree mills. This is to ensure that foreign PMEs are of a “suitable quality and experience”, MOM said.

“‘Doubtful’ means I don’t really know: Did you study for your degree?” Mr Lim said. “Maybe the institute just asked you to pay for your degree, and pretended to conduct the lesson. You pretend to study, and at the end of the day, you all pretend that you graduated. That to us is doubtful.”
– Link

So all along degree mills are actually of some value in Singapore here. No wonder the lady in IDA could get a job there.

She is really foreign talent. Because she is smart enough to know that why kill so many brain cells to study hard when you can buy one off the shelf?

You know the rot has set in when announcement like this have to be made.

This is really interesting because one wonder, what the hell are those people doing? Is their job just to rubber stamp all application that land on their laps? Sad. Real sad.

MRT suffered a massive breakdown yesterday. It is really disappointing to be still be seeing train breakdown on such massive scale after investing so much money, time and effort. It seems like nothing have changed much since the last massive breakdown.

Instead, expectations have changed. People are more resigned to delays and breakdown. It became common to hear of announcement saying the train is delayed because of congestion ahead, or due to track fault. it become so often that it became  the norm rather than the exceptional.

We have our transport minister saying:

I am extremely concerned with today’s incident. This is the first time that services on both the North-South and East-West Lines were affected at the same time. I am sorry that so many commuters experienced massive disruptions to their journeys during the evening peak hours.

I am at LTA’s Operations Centre and they have briefed me about what happened and what could have caused it, but it is too early to conclude definitively. We need to get to the bottom of what caused tonight’s disruption. I have told SMRT and LTA to work through the night to fully recover train services and ensure that services run properly tomorrow.

And then our PM joining in the fray:

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said he is “very concerned at the major disruption to train services” on Tuesday evening (Jul 7).

And finally, we have the head of SMRT apologising the next day morning.

I am sick and tired of listening to them saying they are concerned. We don’t need their concerns. We need their actions! They are all highly paid to the extent of being the highest paid politician and yet they cannot get their acts together?!

I am really angry because even the most junior minister earns around S$1.6million which averages around S$130,000/month. That is 35 times of the median gross monthly income in Singapore. 35 oh my whatever rubbish fucking times! Meaning a median income earner have to work for 35 months or 1 month shy of 3 years to earn what these minister earn in a month. To earn such ridiculous and obscene amount and the whole problem is not fixed?!

Save your concerns because I am really very very very concerned.

Including the CEO of LTA, we have a milky way worth of stars and yet we still get this kind of rubbish failure and such trashy concerned message? I don’t understand. Is managing a subway line on an island of 718.3 sq km so much harder than commanding an army?

Is our subway so hard to manage and maintain that 3 President Scholar and 3 Overseas Scholar, our elites, our cream of the crop can’t even manage it?

It begs me to wonder: what is the quality?

Save your concerns. Frankly, we are the least of your concerns right now and we do not really need or want your concerns. We just want you to hand in a job performance worthy of the money that we are paying you.
